Executive Director of Planning & Borough Development - kensington Town Hall  [14/12/2009]
POST RESUME NOW

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is a high performing authority at the heart of London. The borough has an impressive and formidable array of listed buildings, fine public spaces and innovative streetscapes. It also faces the challenge of continued development and ongoing demand for residential space. The Council is responding to these competing pressures through its delivery of the Better City Life programme and initiatives. As Executive Director, you will have a highly visible role with responsibility for all of the Council’s planning and development services. You will be tasked with maintaining the borough’s unique built environment and local heritage as well as promoting our ‘walkable neighbourhoods’ to meet the day to day needs of our local population.

We are looking for a senior executive with a broad view of area regeneration and an impressive track record of delivering high quality services gained in either the public or private sector. Balancing sound judgement with innovation and flair, you will be politically astute and possess high level partnership skills, which will enable you to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders at both a local and national level.

In addition, your excellent grasp of key issues in the planning and development arenas will allow you to find creative, cost-effective solutions – although you do not need to hold a formal qualification. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious, innovative leader to make a significant impact on the borough’s built environment for generations to come.
