Business Intelligence Architect [18/05/2010]
Position Summary
The BI Architect is responsible for defining and implementing the Adobe's Business Intelligence application architecture. This individual will be accountable for key design decisions, working in collaboration with multiple teams within Adobe including Business Partners and cross functional IT groups. The individual will also lead the setup of the various components needed for best-in-class BI architecture and ensure alignment with Adobe's technical landscape and processes. In addition, this person will have greater responsibility for providing direction and mentoring applications development team.
Be the expert technical owner for Enterprise BI systems (BO XI, Web Intelligence, Crystal Enterprise, Netweaver BI as well as server side add-ons such as OLAP-Voyager, Polestar).Architect mission critical, enterprise-wide BI Applications for a high level of availability, fault tolerance and acceptable performance for all regions and users world-wide.Architect an authentication and security model for the global organization.Ongoing responsibility to ensure BI knowledge is harvested and shared within BI/PMO knowledge repositories.Defines and implements enterprise BI standards and best practices and identifies roadmap and strategy for corporate BI reportingEnsure that BI architecture standards and conventions are well understood and applied by business, support groups and project teams as well as ensure the architecture choices are aligned with the Enterprise Architecture standards and directions.Work with the IT Operations teams to architect Production, QA, Test and Development systems, determine hardware requirements, and provide input into hardware budgeting process and drive implementations. Ensure that systems are monitored and audited for performance and usage.Work closely with vendor Customer Support organization to escalate issues, raise escalations appropriately and follow resolution through to an installed hot fix.Interface with various project team members including Business Analysts, DW Architect, ETL Developers, DBA, BI AdministratorsBe a champion of BI technologiesMust have good business knowledge and planning skills.7 + years experience in a highly technical role and preferably in an Architect role in recent past7+ years experience with Business Intelligence applications, Enterprise reporting, OLAP & Dashboard technology5 to 7 years of direct hands on experience with Business Objects and Crystal Enterprise and a deep technical knowledge of the XI product suite and SAP BI technologies.2 to 3 years of experience in Xcelsius and strong understanding of integration of Xcelsius with other technologies such as Flex, Adobe's AIR platform5 to 7 years of experience implementing Data Warehouse solution with strong understanding of Data Warehouse methodology, dimensional modeling including Ralph Kimball's methodologySolid understanding of networking and server hardware.Extensive knowledge of Oracle database with excellent query performance tuning skillsPassion for technology.Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, define, and develop complex BI architecture solutions for large enterprise.Experience assessing and determining governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing BI architecture across the organization.Excellent organizational skills and ability to create and follow processes.Project Management.Strong communication (verbal and written) skills and end-user interaction skills required which includes the ability to document and develop in-house processes and manage daily multiple projects.Independence; Handles Pressure; Flexibility; Dependability; Coordination.Self motivated, energetic, highly proactive and one who would strive to bring value to organization.Bachelor's Technical degreeBOCP Certification a plusMCSE Certification a plus
