Islington’s newly created New River College has brought together the secondary PRUs and alternative provision in to one framework. Our vision is to ensure high quality learning, the best possible outcomes for its pupils and successful progression into EET.
New River College is part of the ‘Building School’s for the Future’ programme and is currently planning its new building. We work in partnership with schools on preventative programmes and we aim to transform the learning, build emotional resilience and inspire our learners to aim high. The college provides multi-agency integrated packages of learning and care for some of the Borough’s most vulnerable young people.
“New River College is successful in providing a good quality of education and care to students at Key Stage 4. It is also rapidly improving and this can be most clearly seen in the quality of teaching and learning and in its leadership and management” Ofsted 7- 8th July 2009
