Responsible for the design, development and/or modifications of complex computer, telecommunication, and/or numerical control systems for business, scientific and/or manufacturing applications through analysis and/or identification of user's needs. Work involves a considerable amount of creativity, perception and initiative in making decisions as well as a high level of independent judgment. Directs a small group of programmers and/or programmer/analysts in terms of systems flow, program definition, and utilization of hardware and software. Ensuring that IT environments and resources are adequately secured from unauthorized use and to identify, investigate and report fraudulent use, and/or abuse of IT systems and applications. Planning, coordinating and implementing security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized modifications, destruction, or disclosure. Work with vendors and other IT personnel to strategize, plan, and implement data security for existing and new IT developments. Will work closely with vendors to address information systems security issues. Participate in developing overall security architecture for the company. Coordinate security incident response activities Analyze and identify security trends based on incident activity; maintenance of artifacts during major security events. Engaging in collaborative interactions with corporate and other security subject matter experts. Tracking industry and internal security trends. Maintain awareness of security best practices; provide expert technical advice to members of IS and business staff. Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Analyzes conventional methods employed by user and recommends computerization where cost savings may be realized Works on problem definition with users and develops overall proposal of system and program flow Develops plan for utilization of existing hardware and software within the framework of new or modified systems design Assists in proposals for new equipment including contacts with vendors Develops cost, time and manpower requirements for implementation of new or revised systems Keeps supervision of users advised of progress Regular contact with others outside the work group Ensures implementation of and adherence to local security procedures Works with users in developmental and operational phases of system to ensure it meets user's needs Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge of new computer hardware, techniques and systems design Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities Basic Skills Required Broad experience in computer and network systems, including the Internet Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and PCI Data Security Standards, experience in how they apply to enterprise systems, and process of validation through external audits. Experience in overall IT security, including areas such as operating systems and workstations, data and network management, firewalls, information system security logs, encryption and key management, distributed authentication, and vulnerability assessment Structured project management experience in deploying security-related initiatives. Experience with Internet protocols, e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, SMTP, etc Programming or database administration experience Knowledge of LAN/WAN, routers, firewalls, and other network and security devices Knowledge of UNIX (Solaris, HPUX, Linux), Windows Server, XP Knowledge of database concepts Ability to coordinate and direct the planning, development, education, training, documentation, implementation and maintenance of security policies and software Excellent verbal, written, and other interpersonal communication skills-ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively to a variety of audiences Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
