7-Lead Communications Systems Validation Engineer [12/04/2010]

Responsible for specifying requirements, design and execution of tests, and evaluation of designs, analysis, test environment development, testing and control of major validation projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment. Exercises technical direction over other engineers or engineering support personnel and may have work direction responsibilities over a group with specific engineering objectives.

Generates validation solutions for current, new and major programs

Provides technical leadership for Communications technology development

Performs complex design analysis

Develops validation designs (including automated test systems)

Executes both in-vehicle and bench testing

Designs and balances system test procedures

Meet deadlines for production intent product timing

Communicates, coordinates, and consults with engineering departments and suppliers

Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products in the field of Communications technology

Travels as required

Basic Skills Required

Understanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of Serial Data Communications, CAN, Modem Protocol, Internet Protocol, TCP/IP, 802.11, WiFi, and or Bluetooth

Demonstrated technical and professional skills to launch a product using Communications Technology

Demonstrated technical and professional skills in validation of a production intent product

Basic Knowledge of code or script development

High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex

High level of oral and written communication skills

Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals

High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others

Four or more years experience in engineering field

Candidate should have one of the following engineering degrees: MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math,
