COMMUNICATION –
- Set appropriate agendas for subject meetings – publish brief minutes and points of action for department staff, faculty & SLT
- Take an active role within the arts team – promoting the work of Art department both in terms of curricular and extra-curricular and activities
- To prepare evaluations and reviews of the departments work in line with school procedures
- Ensure that all departmental policies are reviewed and updated in line with school policies
- In line with school policy and procedures – to set clear targets for all pupils within the department at each key stage. Ensure that pupils progress is monitored and intervention strategies put in place to address under performance
- To communicate with other staff and parents as appropriate regarding information about pupils’ work, progress, behaviour and attendance
RESOURCES/ENVIRONMENT –
- To be responsible for the cataloguing, maintenance, storing and accessibility of all learning materials and equipment within the department
- To ensure that all equipment is checked and maintained and meets all Health & Safety requirements
- Ensure that H&S regulations are followed in all areas of the department and in an activity undertaken off the school site
- To be responsible for maintaining a visually stimulating environment within the departmental area and the wider school environment
- To be responsible for the cataloguing, maintenance, storing and accessibility of all learning materials and equipment within the department
