The primary purpose of this post is to ensure that all children become effective and successful learners through: 2. Supporting and challenging schools in the context of ‘Every Child Matters’ and the ‘21st Century school’. 3. Encouraging schools and settings to work collaboratively and inclusively in partnership across the six collaboratives and with the Local Authority. 4. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of schools and settings on behalf of the Local Authority in order that it can fulfil its statutory obligations and responsibilities and assist in raising standards of achievement for all children. STANDARD DUTIES 1. To ensure all schools and settings have the capacity and confidence to make appropriate provision for all children. 2. Maintain an overview of the quality and effectiveness of provision for children in Oldham. 3. Ensure colleagues in school improvement service are able to provide support and challenge to all Oldham schools and settings in order for children to receive their educational entitlement. 4. Advise the Local Authority of the equitable allocation and targeting of delegated resources, centrally held and brokered services. 5. Understand and adhere to the Council’s Equal Opportunities and Community Cohesion Policies, and ensure that good practice in equal opportunities is promoted and reflected in all aspects of the post holder’s remit
