Job Purpose/Role JOB SUMMARY: The AllianzGI Academy is a dynamic, entrepreneurial global training organization seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to help build the most effective professional training experience in the asset management industry. The Academy team consists of 4 individuals in Newport Beach and 4 individuals in Munich, and is assisted by a global working group of 15 investment and human resources professionals from the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific. The Program Manager is responsible for program logistics, trainer and participant management, and on-site hosting of investment education delivered in AllianzGI's Hong Kong, Taiwan, and/or Korean offices. The Program Manager position requires a proactive, "can do" attitude to readily assist the Global Program Director and U.S. and European team leaders to ensure a balanced workload across this "virtual team" and excellent program delivery around the world SCOPE: The Program Manager (Asia Pacific) position is based in Newport Beach, California but involves daily interaction with team members in Munich, training vendors and suppliers across the U.S. and Asia-Pacific, and AllianzGI professional staff worldwide. Because the full-time Academy department is a new and evolving initiative within AllianzGI, the Program Manager will have the opportunity to influence the growth and development of the Academy and take pride in its success. Willingness to commit sufficient time, thought, and passion to adjust and deliver Academy training programs with the highest degree of quality and professionalism is essential. The position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week during normal times, and occasional 10-hour days before and during program delivery dates. The normal daily start time of the U.S. team is 7:00 - 7:30am and end time is 4:00 - 4:30pm, though flexibility is possible with previous notice. Weekend travel and 1 to 2-week stays in Asia Pacific or Munich will be required 2 to 4 times per year. Key Requirements/Skills/Experience QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, flexible professional who thrives in a fast paced environment where excellent work is expected every day. Strong interpersonal skills and globally-appropriate etiquette are required, as well as superior organizational skills and the ability to multi-task effectively. The Program Manager will often work with limited supervision, so creative business appropriate problem-solving skills are encouraged. The ability to follow Academy protocols with unflagging attention to detail is critical, combined with the ability to recognize and communicate opportunities for improvements to existing processes. A Bachelors degree in finance, economics, accounting, organizational development or related field is preferred. Minimum 3 years experience in the financial services industry or corporate training function is required, and progression in the CFA or CIMA program is a strong plus.
