- Compile and Sign off on Mine Resource and Mine Reserve Annual statements in his/her capacity as a Qualified Person
- Develop Life of Mine (LOM) plans
- Conduct economic evaluation of LOM and 5-year mine plans
- Provide input to Mergers and Acquisitions evaluations
- Provide strategic direction to growth plan
- Maximise team outcomes by working in conjunction with VP Iron Ore, VP Coal, Operations CEO’s and Mine Planners through strong interpersonal skills, effective leadership and communication.
- Institute best practices for Mine Planning function
- Factor in safety considerations to mine planning activities according to risk profile that is in line with ArcelorMittal HSE standards
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS - Hold a Bachelor of Engineering Mining degree from a recognized institution (Masters degree preferred)
- Be a Qualified Person with SEC & JORC (recognized professional chartered qualification)
- Have a proven track record of operating and understanding of Open Cut and Underground mine operations
- Solid understanding of Statistical Evaluation models with a proven track record for implementing the models for mines
- Have a minimum of 10-years experience in mine planning and economic evaluations in open-cut and underground mines
- Computer literate in the latest Mine Technical and Evaluation packages
- Proven track record of working across organisational levels with demonstrated cultural sensitivity
