The person appointed will undertake the day-to-day administration and support of Oracle databases and will contribute to the design, development and support of associated University computing and IT services.  They will also play a key role in the deployment and ongoing administration and support of a range of scientific research applications which run on the Oracle database platform.

Candidates should be educated to degree level or equivalent with a relevant further qualification or experience an advantage, possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work effectively in a team and liaise with end-users.  In addition, candidates should have significant practical experience of Oracle database administration and of supporting applications. Any experience of scientific applications or research will be an advantage, but is not essential.
