Start up division of a Fortune 100 Company with headquarters in Houston, TX, seeks an Application Engineer in support of product design, development and quality system management. The business unit is a premier designer and manufacturer of Oil and Gas related products and components. This individual will manage the product design and development efforts across key lines of business while driving business unit quality system initiatives. The business unit is recognized as a very open, forward thinking and entrepreneurial organization and is strategically positioning itself for high growth in the Oil and Gas market. Reporting directly to the Director of Technology, the Application Engineer will have single point accountability to identify product opportunities, lead product development efforts, lead product testing efforts and ultimately deliver a qualified product available for sale. This position will be heavily focused on long term product pipelines. In addition, this position will be accountable for managing the business wide quality initiatives. Specific responsibilities and deliverables will include:
Identify and grow Alcoa's Oil and Gas product lines.
Create and identify new applications in the Oil and Gas Industry. Partner with major oil and service companies and Alcoa manufacturing facilities to identify opportunities that provide enabling technology for the customer. Identify new products and conversion opportunities from alternate materials.
Identify, develop propose key projects. Manage project plans and product launch activities. Test and qualify products. Act as key technical interface at the account. Assist with guiding Alcoa's Technical Center on key product attributes, design features and qualifications. Manage the quality programs within the business unit. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
