We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Group Leader to join our Western Australian Operations at Wagerup Refinery in Operations Centre, Clarification.
As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading semi-autonomous teams of motivated, skilled, efficient and safety conscious team members who will integrate their production operation with maintenance, to attain our business objectives. These teams form part of our multi disciplined operations departments and work on a shift basis.
The primary focus will be coaching the teams to reach their full potential by upholding our very high safety standards of safety through applying quality, human resources, environment and safety management principles. You will also be responsible for identifying and driving continuous improving across the production function, whilst assisting the relevant operations departments to achieve their business goals. This will involve close liaison with schedulers and maintenance staff to plan and budget major maintenance work.
You will act as a help chain to the team with your ability to problem solve process and team issues. From an Alcoa Business Systems perspective, you will also be responsible for implementing and sustaining business system improvements and the auditing of standardised work practices.
In this role you must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to safety. Your team leadership and communication skills must be strong as you will be required to lead people through change processes and work in cross-site teams. You will have plenty of initiative and self-motivation and you are able to work with minimal supervision. Knowledge of or experience with planning and scheduling systems is highly desirable. Applicants with a strong interest and track record in continuous improvement activities will be highly regarded.
Applicants possessing or progressing towards a diploma in Frontline Management will be highly regarded.
