About this RoleTo contribute to the development and implementation of Portfolio Management business plans by the effective management of Testing of a number of larger projects, which support and drive transformational change throughout Friends Provident. These projects are complex, cross business unit or strategic projects, at this level. To manage the delivery of tested systems and processes to meet customer needs and within the agreed risk appetite of the project. Responsibilities- Manage, Plan and Co-ordinate testing for assigned projects and releases, by:
- Working alongside Business Analysts and Project Managers
- Creating time and resource estimates and liaise with the Testing Practice Manager to secure the necessary resource for conducting the testing required, including business expertise.
- Working with business teams to ensure external resources to the testing team are available when required.
- Documenting Test Strategy, Approach and Plans in accordance with the risk appetite for the project and provide detailed plans of testing tasks to be undertaken.
- Being the single point of contact for on UAT to the Business and IT on a particular project.
- Monitoring and working with IT to resolve system and environment issues.
- Liaising and consulting with 3rd parties on testing requirements, schedules and approach.
- Managing resources across multiple projects / strands ensuring that adequate resources are allocated to meet agreed project schedules.
- Responsible for accepting any development changes into the UAT phase of the project.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned test team, ensuring that testing activities are completed in accordance with the agreed schedule.
- Provide detailed status reports to the and MI to the Release Manager, Project Manager, Business or 3rd Party tracking progress, actively managing any risks/issues arising from within the test teams that requires escalation to achieve satisfactory outcome.
- Ensure documentation is produced by the team and delivered in a timely manner and to agreed quality standards.
- Provide test completion reports to the Project Manager and provide input into the project sign off process.
- Mentor and Coaching members of the Test Team, including the Test Team Leads in the test design and planning processes.
- Performance management of direct reports.
- Define and maintain the change management processes used within the Testing Services areas, ensuring that these allow effective implementation of projects in accordance with business requirements.
- Represent the Testing Practice in establishing and evolving testing best practices across Friends Provident.
Experience and Qualifications- Experience in Test Management.
- Experience in Line Management.
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent experience.
- ISTQB Foundation level certified.
- STQB Advanced Level would be an advantage.
