The post provides the administrative support to a busy Territorial Army Royal Signals Squadron. It includes the processing of personnel information, pay (including dealing with enquiries), recruitment and discharging via Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) and Training Recruitment Harmonised Joint Services (TRHJ) computer systems (a working knowledge of these systems is desirable). The administration and control of personal documentation and all medical files. The preparation of personnel for medicals, the recruit process and mobilisation when required. General office duties which include, stationery management, postal accounts, fielding enquiries, filing, faxing, post distribution and preparation of correspondence to individuals. The ideal candidate will be IT Literate. The unit trains on a Tuesday evening for which the successful applicant must be available to work (time off in lieu will be allocated for this). There is also a requirement for occasional weekend and detached duty. Desirable Qualifications: Knowledge of the Data Protection Act, Equality & Diversity, and some Health & Safety would be useful.
