The successful incumbent will be a member of the East team covering the all countries east of Pakistan and be accountable for the following:
1. Project manage new development opportunities and lead project teams
2. Develop and maintain key Trading customer and business relationships that are complimentary to those held by the Trading desk (both within and outside of Shell).
3. Identifying potential Business Development opportunities for Crude and Products Trading in line with the Trading books wishes and sponsorship.
4. Provide strategic input where necessary for Crude & Products trading under specific sponsorship and where required, provide Trading input into wider Shell strategy projects.
5. Work with other Shell Businesses to ensure that trading value is identified & realized
6. Negotiation of substantive commercial agreements
7. Work with appropriate functions to obtain necessary corporate approvals
8. Brief end engage senior leaders on key business cases
9. Support the Crude and Products Trading desks activities (on a long-term through to a day-to-day basis) in countries within the region where there are clear overall advantages in business development.
10. Create innovative solutions to meet customer requirements that may include credit risk management.
11. Support desks in the implementation of completed projects.
12. Develop own Project Management, Commercial and Functional skills to meet the increasing complexity of projects managed.

The successful incumbent will possess: -
- Business Development experience (all stages of the pipeline-demonstrated ability to originate and close complex commercial deals.
- Experience in Trading or within the Trading environment would be desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication, strong negotiation skill and influencing abilities
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of cultures
- Strong evidence of commercial acumen and delivery in dealing with 3rd parties.
- Experience within Upstream and/or Downstream (with particular focus on supply and refining processes) is highly desirable.
- Experience developing commercial deals outside own country - cultural sensitivity and balance.
- Knowledge of structured finance (options, interest rates, etc.) is desirable
- Highly numerate with good analytical capabilities and capacity to emerge with creative solutions to problems
- Familiarity to credit risk management and credit facilities
- A proven track record in grasping new concepts quickly is also important.
- Ability to work with a large range of conflicting priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work with uncertainty and ambiguity.
- Demonstrated ability to build support and consensus across organisational interfaces
- Chinese language skills would be an advantage
Additionally, he/she will be expected to work as part of a global team, sharing knowledge and helping other team members in remote locations
