- Maintain the UIA lifting and hoisting management systems and procedures
- Review and approve as Lifting Technical Authority the lifting procedures for all lifting and hoisting operations, both on land and offshore on platforms, construction barges, and drilling rigs, including rigging arrangements, the sizing and selection of all cranes, rigging and lifting accessories and shackles
- Review the technical specifications, and Technical Requisition Packages (TRP) for the procurement of new lifting and hoisting equipment, including fixed pedestal cranes for offshore oil & gas platforms. Provide design input on the various types of lifting equipment as and when required by projects
- Formulate inspection, servicing, testing and maintenance plans for both onshore and offshore (on platforms) lifting and hoisting equipment. Identify and apply appropriate inspection techniques for lifting equipment. Participate in integrity review and benchmark with other Shell companies
- Participate in all lifting and hoisting related incidents/accidents investigations, and incident reviews
- Perform lifting audits on internal sites and on contractors’ operations and facilities, including onshore fabrication yards, offshore construction barges, and offshore drilling rigs, relating to lifting and hoisting, as well as to provide support to other departments by participating in pre-mobilisation inspections
- Recognised Bachelor of Science degree (Mechanical or Structural Engineering) with minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the inspection, certification and operation of lifting equipment and lifting accessories in the oil & gas offshore industry
- Knowledge of lifting engineering analysis, rigging arrangements, and sizing and selection of cranes, rigging, lifting accessories and shackles
- A valid visa or authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for this position
