An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Financial Controller within our Group IS business based in Leatherhead Reporting To Group IS Senior Financial Controller (SFC) you will provide financial support to budget holders in Group IS, including budget setting and quarterly re-forecasting, financial accounting and management reporting to enable budget holders to understand and manage costs effectively.
Financial planning:
- Assisting SFC and budget holders to prepare annual budget and forecasts
- Preparing financial forecast and budget models
Accounting:
- Preparation and submitting, to tight deadlines, of month-end accounts including accruals and prepayments, time sheet control accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintaining, calculating, journaling and reporting internal international and project recharges
- Working closely with Budget Holders to understand and explain financial performance
- Production of management reporting packs and detailed variance analysis
Other:
- Working with other members of the team to develop and improve financial processes and support to budget holders
- Assisting with ad hoc financial and internal billing issues as and when they arise
Essential:
- This role would ideally suit a nearly or newly qualified accountant (or qualified by experience)
- Excellent Excel skills including manipulation and validation of data, pivot tables and graphs
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work accurately and to high standards
Desirable:
- Experience of Hyperion Retrieve and/or JD Edwards Behavioural Competencies
- You will be a good team player with a demonstratable ability to work supportively with other team members and business managers
