Local Terms

Damco is seeking to hire a Sales Executive to be based in Birmingham.  The purpose of the position, as part of the Ocean and Air Freight Sales Team, is:

-  To plan and achieve new business call targets within a designated commercial territory
-  To develop, retain and grow existing business relations
-  To plan and achieve target accounts
-  Research and source new business lines
-  To provide effective sales presentations
-  To supply good internal business communications with both local manager and customer service teams in order to ensure effective support and communication that client expectations are matched
-  To administer file, reports and databases and other documentation as required.

Specific Responsibilities:

-  Take steps to ensure that product knowledge skills remain up to date
-  Ensure that client, competition and industry knowledge remains up to date
-  Make provision for pre visit preparation and planning
-  To make best commercial use of company systems
-  To make best use of client, industry and any other reports provided by HQ
-  Maintain and develop time management and prioritising skills
-  To promote a positive enthusiastic and motivated attitude
-  To work on own initiative but within line with company procedures
-  Any other in prior consultation with local Manager, UK Sales and Marketing  Manager.
