Purpose of role:
To carry out work activities within the department as directed by the Cell Team Leader, Shift Team Leader or deputy.
To maintain standards of housekeeping & GMP and adhere to relevant hygiene and EH&S regulations.
General
1. To be proactive in operating primary processes to
maximise efficiency.
2. To operate in accordance with operating and cleaning
procedures, company procedures and policies with
respect to Health and Safety, Hygiene and Environment.
3. To be organised and present him/her self at the workplace
on time at the beginning of the day or after recognised
breaks.
4. To ensure all quality checks are completed and records
maintained as required by quality systems and the
Department Manager.
5. To undertake general housekeeping duties whenever
possible during and on completion of the production run
ensuring a clean, tidy and safe working area.
6. To communicate with the Cell Team Leader or Shift Team
Leader or deputy on a timely basis on matters concerning
quality, mechanical defects, safety and efficiency issues.
7. To demonstrate awareness of Conformance to Plan and
internal customers.
8. To comply with any reasonable requests from the Cell
Team or Shift Team Leader or deputy.
9. To be proactive in generating solutions on plant issues and
drive continuous improvement in all aspects of your work.
10. Stock control of raw materials/stocktaking.
Key Results Areas:
A Primary Operator – Will be competent at some but not all Dry or Wet side operations.
Dry side operations
1. Vacuum Band Drier operations
2. Operation of calandrias, remake & 78% system
3. Filling & storing polybins
4. Operation of Food Weighing Room
5. Operation of autobagger and FIBC filling system
6. Chocolate Mixing
7. 10 day shutdown cleans & CIPs
Wet side operations
1. Silo operation & receipt of flour/barley
2. Operation of mash & alfa laval
3. Operation of the dairy/HMC and use of the OGS
4. Operation of the TEE and single stage evaporators (Old
Vap)
5. 10 day shutdown cleans & CIPs
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Demonstrated understanding of hygiene & GMP standards
2. Keeping work areas clean at all times in accordance with
hygiene and infestation schedule
3. Accurate completion of relevant documentation and
taking/recording of key data
4. Following procedures and work instructions within the
quality system
5. Assist with planning of work and organising of staff at start
of shift
6. Use power pallet trucks
7. Demonstrate understanding of continuous improvement
involvement. Able to provide examples of where they
have made improvements or a difference to their
workplace or business processes.
8. Demonstrate a drive for achievement
9. Being able to work under own initiative
10. Strong teamworker with evidence of cross functional team
working
11. Good communication skills
12. Demonstrate understanding of customer needs.
13. Other tasks reasonably associated with the
manufacturing
department operations
Basic qualifications:
Good level of numeracy and literacy - preferably demonstrated by qualifications
