Description:
Manages the direct sales of Sybase products and services within an assigned territory. Achieves or exceeds revenue objectives established for the territory, managing expenses to ensure budgeted margin performance is achieved. Mentors, coaches, and trains sales staff. Prioritizes and allocates internal and external resources.

Participates in overall functional program planning. Develops and implements the business strategy for the territory and takes significant responsibility for the successful operation of the territory. Leads key sub-team of sales/pre-sales/channel/education, etc. Develops and implements shared plans to achieve quota and strategic objectives. Provides division leadership to the regional marketing centers, local sales and field sales channel.

Direct sales team to increase sales to existing customer base, establish new accounts, establish and build relationships with Sybase customers to leverage additional sales opportunities Establishes new accounts emphasizing the markets and business sectors identified as key areas of growth. Meets expense and capital budgets to ensure profitability goals are achieved.

Establishes and builds relationships with Sybase business partners to leverage additional sales opportunities.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 11 years sales software experience with a minimum of 1-3 years supervisory experience. Must have extensive knowledge of database or appropriate eBusiness applications.
