Brief Description Pro-active interaction with visitors to the site, assessing their individual needs and answering enquiries both in person and by telephone. Identifying visitor needs and promoting and selling the appropriate ticket (admission ticket, Friends Membership, Explorer Pass). Promote and encourage sales of the souvenir guide and retail merchandise. Responsibility for retail area including cleanliness, ordering stock forms, pricing, rotation and attractive display of stock. Delivery of customer care to external and internal customers in accordance with Historic Scotland’s expectations. Imparting information relating to the history of the site through creative conversation and where appropriate carry out guided tours. Promotion of all Historic Scotland sites, including events and other activities. Vacancy description Keeping all designated parts of the site, grounds, retail facility and where appropriate toilets to the standard as outlined in checklist for the site. Liaison with relevant Works colleagues to report maintenance, faults/problems on site, informing District Visitor Services Manager as required. To ensure site is safe for both visitors, colleagues and self.
