Brief Description Visitor Services - welcoming visitors to the site, assessing their individual needs and answering enquiries both by telephone and in person. Selling admission tickets and promoting the sales of Memberships, Scottish Explorer Passes, guidebooks and general retail sales. Delivery of customer care to internal and external customers in accordance with Historic Scotland's designated training programme and expectations. Imparting information relating to the history of the Picts and St Vigeans. Promotion of all Historic Scotland sites, including events and other activities. Liaison with local attractions and Tourist Information Centres to obtain and exchange local publicity material. Provision of local information to visitors. Vacancy description Staff Management and Development - ensure that staff are aware of and adhere to all Historic Scotland policies pertaining to Visitor Services. Overall responsibility for performance and on the job training of your staff. To ensure that staff are trained in terms of induction, customer care and Health and Safety. Responsibility for correct completion of timesheets/overtime forms and other routine paperwork as required. Sales –to account for all monies daily, to bank cash, cheques and processing credit card adhering to the daily procedures for the point of sale systems. All sales etc to be recorded accurately in the till and credit card machines, and summarised on the appropriate forms and returns submitted within specified timescale.
