You will be working within the Information Communication Technology and Science (ICTS) directorate, which provides vision and professional leadership in information technology, communications and science for policing in England and Wales. They will coordinate, facilitate and consult with police IT and network staff on the information systems and communications initiatives needed to improve policing. The NPIA's Internal Information Services Unit also sit in this Directorate.

 

Vacancy description

 

The post holder will...
• Be aware of project and programme strategy in the identification and application of appropriate engineering solutions
• Detail reviews of various technical documents associated with PKI and Certificate Authorities
• Provide customer-focused engineering solutions in a high professional and effective manner
• Use technical knowledge with engineering experience to design solutions solving technical problems arising from business requirements and to enhance business processes
• Ensure that documentation is produced and delivered in accordance with NPIA standards and timescales
 

 

Skills

 

The successful candidate must have...
• Substantial experience in utilisation of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and/or cryptography
• Knowledge of working with clients and suppliers on technical problems by providing advice and guidance to resolve issues and queries
• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders to communicate and explain policy, principles and strategy
• Substantial experience in planning, developing and operating large networks and related information infrastructure as well as deploying and maintaining applications across large network infrastructures
