General responsibilities :

Perform import & export customs clearance with right documents and within agreed service level agreements [Customs Authorities / internal customers]

Customs execution

- Ensure on time and accurate execution of customs formalities [customs file preparation, completion, archiving] in a Paperless Customs environment , through NCTS- & PLDA-systems

- Maintain inbound & outbound worklists

- Issue customs forms and documents like Transito-document, certificate of origin, EUR1-document

- Monitor daily execution of operational activities through Key Performance Indicators

- Address day-to-day matters by providing operational customs expertise / guidance to inbound & outbound transportation team, EMA CS team

Customs compliance

- Understand the import / export regulatory requirements [European & local Customs Authorities and other Government agencies like USDA, FDA, … ) and adapt processes where required

- Engage with Inbound & Outbound transport team, SC planning team, Quality team and Regulatory team to communicate and recommend process improvements

- Maintain customs related master data [commodity code, duty, origin, valuation, …]

- Assist in execution of external audits by local Customs Authorities [GVC, IWECC] and report any non-conformities immediately

- Assist in management of compliance relations with government agencies and service providers

- Assist in reporting, customs regime requests, renewals,…

Required skills and knowledge :

- You have a Bachelor degree, e.g. in logistics

- 3 – 5 Years of customs related experience

- Knowledge of customs regulations & international trade is desirable

- General knowledge of customs operational systems [NCTS, PLDA], how import / export regulatory requirements may impact import / export flows

- Knowledge of Distribution & Transportation processes

- Experience with continuous improvement (CI) processes & tools – six sigma, VOC, metrics is a plus

- Fluent in Dutch and English

- PC literated (MS-office), SAP is an asset

- Excellent problem solving skills: researching issues, identifying root causes and proposing sustainable solutions
