The Producer Services and Relations (PSR) Department of FLO eV encompasses a complex global team which
provides key services to the producer organizations and the Fairtrade system worldwide. It involves supporting producer
groups in Africa, Asia and Latin America helping to reconcile the diverging demands of several different stakeholder
groups from small-scale producers
The PSR Director is away from the office for a considerable part of his/ her time at present and the workload is heavy.
Arrange meetings for the Director – contacting attendees, organising venues, booking equipment, presenting
documentation in an ordered and accessible way, etc as required.
Draft and distribute meeting notes as required and conduct follow-up from key agreements made in meetings.
Making travel and other arrangements in good time in a cost-effective, convenient way.
Taking, checking and distributing agendas and minutes of all meetings as required.
Keeping track of correspondence and ensuring that all correspondence is dealt with appropriately and quickly.
When necessary, taking and fielding calls on behalf of the Director.
Undertaking paper, internet and face-to-face research for the Director on a range of topics for reports,correspondence, talks and presentations as required.
Producing reports, PowerPoint presentations, tables and charts as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Experience in an international office environment or a very bright self-starter advantageous
Working with the MS Office suite of programmes – at a minimum: Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

The concept of fair trade has been around for over 40 years according to FINE but a formal labelling scheme didnt get off the ground until the late 1980s. 1988: launch of the first Fairtrade label, Max Havelaar, under the initiative of the Dutch development agency Solidaridad. The first Fairtrade coffee from Mexico was sold into Dutch supermarkets. It was branded "Max Havelaar," after a fictional Dutch character who opposed the exploitation of coffee pickers in Dutch colonies.
