This post is within the Highways Development Planning Team. The role involves implementing the County Council’s own Corporate Travel Strategy, including the Travel Plan for the newly refurbished Headquarters. Developing new sustainable transport measures and marketing campaigns to reduce the impact of commuting and business travel. Educated to degree level in an appropriate subject or relevant work experience in Travel Planning. Good communication skills with the ability to persuade others to adopt new concepts and ideas. A good team worker with creativity and enthusiasm, good inter-personal skills and the ability to negotiate • Experience of working in transport planning or engineering • Understanding of transportation planning and policies, legislation and guidance • Knowledge of company / workplace travel plans • Proven ability to report and present to senior managers and directors • Ability to work with the full range of Microsoft office packages, analyse and report on a variety of data sources • Ability to work as part of a team with a good level of inter-personal skills • Ability to be an outgoing, confident negotiator with a good sense of humour • Experience of coordinating and implementing sustainable transport measures as part of a company travel plan • Current knowledge of travel planning, including policy guidance and technical standards • Understanding of what makes a successful company (green) travel Plan • Experience of providing advice on workplace travel plans • Experience of securing travel plans through the planning process • Project, budget management and technical skills
