This is an exciting opportunity for someone seeking to increase their exposure to Chief Executives and the political interface whilst learning about the wider region. This will be a challenging role which will suit someone on or completing a graduate programme, in a junior research/policy position, or an admin/events person looking to broaden their skills set into research.

You will have good diplomatic skills and the ability to handle sensitive information. You will be confident and self-motivated, and be able to work effectively and remotely. With excellent organisational and IT skills, you’ll have an eye for detail, good communication skills and excellent interpersonal skill.

To provide research and administrative support to the South East Strategic Leaders’ joint lobbying work.

 Formal qualifications or equivalent in business administration with extensive relevant experience in application of administrative systems and procedures, including computer applications using a variety of software for data storage, manipulation and transmission.

 Ability to organise high-level meetings efficiently.
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with a large number of external colleagues.
• Ability to liaise confidently with senior staff and their offices.
• Ability to summarise press, parliamentary and other written sources and provide briefings on them.
• Ability to organise events.
• Ability to handle sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of self-motivation.
• Ability to read large amounts of information but retain an eye for detail.
• Ability to use or gain appropriate skills in standard IT packages e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and website software.
• Ability to develop and maintain integrated working with others using effective interpersonal skills.
• Well developed range of communication skills, including oral, written, presentation and briefing others.

 Familiarity with upper tier authorities and partner organisations in the South East.
• Familiarity with Whitehall and Westminster.
