Develop and lead the architecture function ensuring business plans and technology roadmaps are in place and delivered across Asda’s business operations. • Work closely with the management team to understand the IT strategy and plans and participate as part of the IT leadership team
• Build strong relationships with the business heads to understand the strategies and plans for each business area
• Drive the continuous development and improvement of the architecture incorporating business processes, controls, systems and organisation
• Ensure that the technology roadmaps are in place and that they support the business objectives of each area
• Maintain a strong awareness of current and emerging trends and techniques in the retail sector and information technology and provide thought leadership
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with key technology partners in order to leverage best solutions to obtain business advantage
• Be custodian of Asda’s technology policies, standards and governance
• Support key stakeholders on architecture developments on key business change programmes
• Oversee the documentation of all solution architecture design and analysis work • Enterprise Architect or Senior Technical Architect with a track record of delivering world class architecture solutions within a large, complex commercial operation
• In depth knowledge of technology solutions, trends and techniques
• Experience of enabling the delivery of business change / development through facilitation of solutions, within large scale, complex programmes
• Knowledge of architecture development tools and techniques
• Knowledge of the retail sector preferable.
• Experience of working with senior management to develop business plans and ensuring alignment with IT strategy
• Programme management skills including stakeholder management, planning and organisational skills
• Team management and development
• Knowledge of IT controls and governance procedures
• An ability to articulate complex technical solutions to a variety of business opportunities
