The busy and exciting role of Assistant Bar Manager has arisen within the River Bar of the five-star Lowry Hotel. The River Bar and Terrace offers a light menu, afternoon tea and a wide variety of cocktails and other drinks throughout the day. Live entertainment is provided most evenings and during Sunday lunch. In addition, the Library can be reserved for cocktail parties and small events.
You will be working within a team of 18 and supporting the Assistant Manager and the reporting directly into the River Bar & Restaurant Manager in the daily management and be actively involved in the development of the River Bar operation, whilst ensuring all guests receive the highest levels of service and standards. You will assist the manager in achieving set targets, ensure sales are recorded accurately and that the Bar team are fully trained in Company standards and are knowledgeable of the Food & Beverage sold. The Assistant Bar Manger position involves the person to deputise in the absence of a Manager, attend regular management meetings and Duty Management shifts within the hotel.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a supervisory capacity and can demonstrate excellent spirit and cocktail knowledge. You will possess a professional approach with a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude where the focus is on the customer. You should also have the ability to train new employees and assess their level of ability, have a pro-active attitude, be standards driven, and have the ability to lead and manage a team. Previous experience of maintaining budgets and achieving targets is essential. The role operates on a shift-based pattern therefore flexibility is essential.
