We are a progressive authority looking for continuous improvement in all its services.

Our Benefit Investigations Team is committed to providing a high quality service to prevent and investigate suspected cases of Benefit Irregularities. We are looking for a highly motivated and suitably skilled person to help us meet this objective.

Reporting to the Benefit Investigations Team Leader, you will be responsible for conducting investigations into suspected cases of benefit irregularities to a high standard. This will involve obtaining and analysing benefit and relevant data, interviewing members of the public and recording the results of the investigations.

The successful candidate must have relevant experience in dealing with members of the public and conducting interviews as well as good communication skills; the ability to be firm and deal with difficult situations and irate customers and the ability to organise and prioritise own workload to achieve targets and standards.

A driving licence is an essential.

The post is temporary for a period of 2 years.
