Responsibility

In this opportunity you will be working as part of a small team, key responsibilities of this role will include:
 Modification and development of existing formulations including roll out and support of any revised formulations into the factory (including manufacturing supervision)
 Providing technical support to the business during roll-out and trialling of new and revised formulations with customers (internal and external) as required
 Support the Union Quality Control team in understanding significant formulation or manufacturing related quality issues.
 Providing on-site customer technical support to the Awlgrip business in NA as required
 Auditing of manufacturing and quality control standards and practices at both the Union and Waukegan factories to ensure that the delivered product quality is robust.
 Formulation of new custom colours
 Reporting progress to the Management Team and the Yacht Coatings business by way of regular written reports or where appropriate by oral presentation.

Job requirements / Candidate profile

Candidates should possess the following attributes:
 Be qualified to degree level in Chemistry or a closely related subject.
 Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desirable.
 Self-motivated but keen to work as part of a team.
 Willing to embrace new technologies and ways of working, and to push for positive changes.
 Excellent communication skills.
