Responsibilities include: | research of power semiconductor devices, drive and converter topologies, circuit and system design, modeling, circuit simulation and testing of digital, analog and power electronics circuits for IGBT and thyristor based controllers for adjustable speed drives Work encompasses a broad range of motor controllers from low- to medium-voltage and fractional- to over 1000-Hp Activities includes developing technology roadmaps, researching power devices, drive systems and topologies and providing proven technology building blocks to product development teams Position requires close interaction with other power electronics engineers, control and hardware design engineers, PCB layout designers, technicians and test personnel |
| Candidate must have a minimum of 10 years experience in power electronics design pertaining to adjustable speed drives or related fields Experience in design of high power IGBT-based power platforms for drives and active front ends Excellent power electronics device knowledge and application experience Experience in the design of analog and digital circuits, gate circuits for IGBT and power MOSFETs Working knowledge of power line filters, and techniques for mitigation of EMI, drive input current harmonics, and output common-mode noise is highly desirable Experience with schematic capture, circuit simulation, component selection, and documentation Proficient in using Matlab, Simulink Good understanding of operating fundamentals for induction, PM and switched-reluctance motors Must have excellent communication skills, both spoken and written |
