Contracts Manager  [10/02/2010]


 


  • Interpret, participate in negotiations and draft contractual terms with clients, vendors and other third parties, ensuring contracts meet legislative requirements and the specific standards put forth by ATCO I-Tek .
  • Coordinate with senior management and third parties regarding requested revisions to contracts and the resulting associated risks.
  • Track and facilitate resolution of outstanding issues related to contract amendments.
  • Liaise with outside legal counsel where necessary.
  • Support senior management in its review and approval process by summarizing the risks and issues associated with contracts.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a central database of all company contracts ensuring the proper approvals have been obtained, the appropriate supporting documents have been provided and pertinent renewal terms are communicated in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain auditable files for contracts and provide regular status updates.
  • Regularly review contract process to ensure it is well documented and communicated throughout the organization.
Qualifications
  • A law or undergraduate degree with knowledge of contract law.
  • 5+ years experience in corporate law including reviewing, drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Concentration of experience in the software, IT sector, licensing and/or intellectual property is an asset.  
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with various levels and departments in the organization, as well as with external parties.
  • A strong desire to attain an understanding of the various business operations and contract needs for each department within the organization.
  • A positive attitude and the determination to solve problems. 
  • An ability to work independently.
  • A highly credible and ethically uncompromising professional that exhibits a high level of integrity
  • Attention to detail and accuracy while also considering strategic objectives.
  • An ability to perform under time pressures.
  • ATCO I-Tek will consider flexible work arrangements for this position.
