As a senior member of our National Environmental Assessment Service (NEAS), your work will involve managing environmental risks and opportunities through statutory Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes. You will ensure our growing programme of £multi-million flood and coastal works have minimal environmental impact, meet regulatory standards, maintain high quality design, and contribute to national and regional outcomes. This will be done as part of a dedicated national team of around 60 environmental project managers, archaeologists and landscape architects operating across the country to help us create a better place.
To do this successfully it’s clear that you should have demonstrable experience and a proven track record in the fields of SEA and EIA, be an Associate Member, Full Member (or working towards Full membership) of IEMA and at, or working towards, Registered Practitioner. You’ll also have demonstrable project management skills, experience of managing specialist EIA areas related to water management, and a degree in an environmental, earth science, planning, or engineering discipline. Personally you must be a strong influencer and communicator, capable of establishing strong relationships in large scale project environments. Lastly, you will need to demonstrate technical leadership, the ability to negotiate positive environmental outcomes across diverse interests, and of course have a passion for the environment.
