Business Team Managers - Anglian -Midlands- North East- Southern-South West - Thames and Wales  [09/02/2010]


 


You will lead a team of Commercial and Planning professionals to provide a full business support service to our Project Managers. Your team will be expected to provide day to day commercial advice to regional project teams and you will need to work closely with our National Commercial Team to build strong and respectful relationships. You will prepare and manage the Regional Service Plan and work within our Regional Management Teams in co-ordination with National and Regional colleagues to plan and populate annual Capital Programmes over a 5 year horizon. You will be responsible for the regional monitoring and reporting of project and programme delivery.

You will be expected to co-ordinate the Region’s Project Planning and Business Case submissions to the Environment Agency’s decision making bodies to ensure that the submission programme is achieved. You will play a key role in identifying and making recommendations for improvements to processes, recognising best practice and lessons learnt and providing feedback on project performance to improve the quality and reputation of ncpms’ service.

As part of the Environment Agency’s wider role, you may be involved in reviewing proposals from Local Authority’s or Internal Drainage Boards to ensure they comply with quality standards outlined in the Environment Agency’s processes and guidance.

With significant experience of managing large scale construction projects you will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject or qualified in an engineering or environmental discipline. You should be chartered (ICE, CIWEM or equivalent) and ideally have attained PRINCE2 Foundation status or an equivalent Project Management qualification. Previous Team Leader or Flood Risk Management experience will be a bonus. Based in regional offices, there will be instances when you will be expected to travel which may also include the occasional overnight stay.
