Senior Manager - Herzogenaurach  [03/02/2010]


  • Communicate International PR Strategies to European and EEMEA PUMA country Marketing/PR Managers and help them localize/implement the global programs
  • Monitor and guide local markets in their own local PR plan development; communicate local plans back to International PR team
  • Report all country activities on a monthly basis to the International PR team
  • Work with local markets to manage PR agencies, including agency reviews and contract renewals
  • Coach the local market PR managers on PR best practices
  • Assist in staff management, hiring etc. for all market-level PR personnel
  • Serve as first line of defense for crisis communications situations in markets and report issues back to International PR team
  • Spend time in key markets to understand local issues/needs/opportunities
  • Communicate regularly with Euro Hub sales, Retail and Marketing Managers to align programs, determine what products are available in those markets seasonally that require PR support and how to drive store traffic through PR activities
  • Operate regular team meetings with key markets to drive International PR strategy

 

Media Relations/Event Support

  • Work with PUMA’s International PR team and International PR agency to develop media outreach strategy and PR programs, including garnering editorial placements and also work independently to develop and pitch brand story opportunities
  • Assist in the creation & execution of local market editor events and local press days
  • Maintain copies of relevant media lists and demonstrate a keen understanding media landscape across EEA and EEMEA
  • Act as PUMA representative along with PR agency at key market press days
  • Pitch media on stories when necessary
  • Be available to help market PR managers draft media Q&A’s for country-specific initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with markets to plan and execute press and influencer events; staff events where needed

 

Media Materials

  • Work with markets to adapt press materials, product fact sheets, campaign launch announcements etc. created by International PR to fit local market needs in the local language
  • Serve as editor/approver for major market-level press announcements
  • determine which media materials need to be elevated to International PR for review/approval

 

PR Administration

  • Compile the countries’ monthly press coverage reports and submit to International PR team
  • Update external sales force on monthly reports and new stories
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions with International PR team when called upon to do so
  • Help the markets manage the logistics of ordering creative mailers, press kit folders, lookbooks, etc.
  • Coordinate PR sample orders with all markets
  • Act as senior point of contact for EEA and EEMEA PR agencies
  • Lend support to the production and execution of the bi-annual Sales and Marketing launches
  • Maintain timelines and deadlines of all deliverables to the local markets
  • Complete event wrap-up reports for all Internationally- driven PR events executed in the markets
  • Write monthly activity reports for submission to International PR team

 

We expect:

  • College/University degree with a minimum of 3-5 years work experience in Public
  • Relations with emphasis on consumer brands; ideally having worked with highly desirable Sport Lifestyle brands
  • Background in sports, fashion and/or entertainment industries is a plus
  • Strong project management skills as well as event management skills and ability to manage event logistics
  • Knowledge of the European media landscape is requested
  • Your ability to work independently and multi-task is proven and one of your characteristics is your creativity and capability to think in a wide perspective
  • Frequent travel is required
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • Strong problem solving skills, detail-orientated
  • Ability to manage budgets
  • Comfortable working with high-level executives and talent/athletes
  • Flexible and open to changing environments
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of basic MS Office programs as well as fluent English and German are indispensable
