You will be responsible for initiating and developing an ongoing, imaginative programme of activities tailored to the specific needs and wishes of residents in order to maintain and improve their quality of life. You will be involved in the organisation and management of the residents committee, entertainment within the unit and excursions outwith. You will be involved in the assessment of new residents, teach and develop new skills or encourage the re-learning of existing skills. You will be required to use community resources and co-ordinate the activity programme with other staff in the unit.

 

Experience of organising creative and social activities for older people or similar experience in a related area is essential. A relevant qualification such as an SVQ 2 in Social Care, or in the area of, for example Community Education, or Art, is desirable.
