Job Description
Infrastructure works in Deputy Commander Royal Engineers (DCRE)/Royal Engineers Facilities Management (REFM).
Assisting Officer Commanding DCRE/REFM in meeting all the requirements of Defence Estates (DE) Requirements Documents, the Establishment Maintenance Policy Statement (and successor documents) and the Works Group Royal Engineers (Airfields) Deliverables Document as agreed annually with the Client.
Estimating Works to identify funding requirements.
Planning, specifying ordering and managing Works in progress.
Carrying out the duties of Construction Design Management (CDM) Co-ordinator as laid down in CDM Regulations 2007 (A collective function of DCRE/REFM).


Undertake duties of an Authorised Person (Confined Spaces and/or Working at Heights) as required by MOD Safety Rules and Procedures (NB. Only if required, qualified and aptitude displayed).
In addition the Tech Offr (Building & Civil Engineering [B&CE]) will be required to undertake any other tasks including the provision of contract and procurement advice and the development of procurement strategies; also the preparation of tender documents and evaluation of tenders, provision of cost advice and cost management, management of term contracts, auditing, measurement of work and preparation of accounts. Also responsible for the production of financial information for inclusion in the DCRE monthly report and for liaison with the Contracting Authority. The post holder will have line management responsibilities.

Accomplishments/Tests
Qualifications: 5 GCE/GCSE passes at Grade C or above, including 2 at A Level Grade E or above or equivalent, or NVQ Management Level 3 or Level 4. Must pass Management Competency Test.

Employment Terms
This is a Permanent appointment.

This post is Full Time but open to part time/job share applicants.

Hours of Work: 42 hours including meal breaks.

Salary and Allowances
New entrants will normally attract the minimum of the payscale, currently £22,082 per annum. However, Higher Starting Pay (HSP) has been approved to a maximum of £23,427. Any offer of HSP will depend on your level of experience and qualifications.
