Officer, Japan IBK Controller, Finance [25/01/2010]
Job Description
An opportunity has arisen in the Finance team in Tokyo, to provide Finance support to the Japan Investment Banking business. The successful applicant will join a team which provides financial reporting and financial control to the Investment Bank, covering Advisory, Debt Capital Markets, and Equity Capital Markets products.
The position provides an opportunity to work closely with the Investment Banking business, to gain an understanding of that business, and to develop accounting, financial reporting and control skills in a dynamic and growing organization.
Responsibilities
Product Control
o Daily and monthly PandL calculation and reporting
o Month-end book closing, including General Ledger review
o Maintenance and reconciliation of data in sub-ledgers, the General Ledger, and front end systems
o Daily and monthly PandL calculation and reporting

o Maintenance and reconciliation of data in sub-ledgers, the General Ledger, and front end systems
Expense Control
o preparation of expenses summary for banker review
o client invoicing
o review and control of receivables
o preparation of expenses summary for banker review
o client invoicing
o review and control of receivables
Preparation of financial analyses and reports to the local, regional, and global management
Ad hoc reporting
Project support, including new system roll-out
Requirements
Education:
- University Degree reguired.
Work experience:
- Minimum 3 years working experience, preferably in financial reporting or product control.
- Previous experience working in a financial institution is a plus.
Technical skills:
- Proficient in Excel, knowledge of Oracle or Hyperion Essbase is a plus.
- Accounting experience is preferred, CPA is a plus.
Personal skills:
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented, assertive and mature.
Language skills:
- Fluent in Japanese and English (oral and written).
