Job Description
JARIC, The National Imagery Exploitation Centre is part of the MOD Defence Intelligence Staff and is based at RAF Brampton, near Huntingdon. Comprising approximately 550 staff, it is the UK's only centre for the production of strategic and tactical imagery intelligence and supports National level policy maker and tactical level operations.
As a JARIC Tradecraft Instructor, you will develop and deliver courses in Imagery Analysis Tradecraft and JARIC systems training with minimal supervision and within set deadlines. Responsibilities will include reviewing and updating course materials, maintaining personal efficiency in the use of in-house IT systems and imagery exploitation software tools used within JARIC, supervising and mentoring other instructors and liaison with internal and external customers across the wider intelligence training community. A requirement of the job is to maintain currency with new and emerging remote-sensing technologies and analysis methodologies, and acquisition of specialist knowledge on tradecraft subjects as directed by Head Tradecraft. The post holder will report to Head Tradecraft and may be responsible for line management of up to 2 x civilian Band D instructors.
The successful candidate will have recent experience of imagery intelligence analysis and/or imagery exploitation, good written and oral communication and presentation skills, and one or more of the following: teaching or instructional experience, knowledge of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) or comparable framework, experience in course design.
Completion of Intelligence orientation and analysis training such as DIAC (Defence Intelligence Analyst Course) would be an advantage, successful candidates may be asked to attend intelligence analysis (DIAC) training if not already completed. Defence Instructional Techniques Course is also desirable.

Accomplishments/Tests
Qualifications: 3 years relevant experience at an appropriate level. Must pass Management Competency Test.
UK Imagery Analysis Course is also required.
Employment Terms
This is a Permanent appointment.
This post is Full Time but is open to Part Time and Job Share applicants.
Hours of work: 42 hours per week including meal breaks.
Salary and Allowances
Salary: The full time starting salary will be the minimum of the salary range, currently £27,578 per annum.

Interview/Assessment Centre
Interviews for this position will take place during December 2009 at JARIC, RAF Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, PE28 4YG.
At interview, applicants will be required to complete an assessed exercise (approx 30 mins) and deliver a short (15 min) presentation up to 'Restricted' security level on a remote-sensing related subject which will be allocated to candidates prior to the interview.
