Tax - Senior Manager - Corporate Tax - Saskatoon  [22/01/2010]

As part of the Regions West Canadian Corporate Tax engagement team, the Manager/Senior Manager will work closely with KPMG Partners and other senior professionals on tax planning initiatives and compliance requirements. Your organizational skills will enable you to direct the work of junior staff, including reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness. Additionally, you will assist our clients in the preparation of income tax provisions, research and implement tax-planning strategies and take the lead on the preparation and review of tax returns.

The ideal candidate enjoys the spotlight and sets the standard for junior staff, by providing ongoing support and opportunities for professional development. The successful candidate will be responsible for:


     

  • Providing leadership to various sized client tax engagements.

  •  

  • Working closely with a Partner or a senior team member to provide expert tax planning work for clients.

  •  

  • Fostering a deeply rooted sense of ownership, team and camaraderie within the practice.

  •  

  • Planning and organizing teams for the preparation of tax returns and conducting and documenting tax research.

  •  

  • Reviewing the work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness.

  •  

  • Providing ongoing support and mentoring for the professional development of staff.

  •  

  • Participation in the practices growth through the development of relationships in existing as well as new networks.

  •  

  • Being a leader and supporting the community at large.

  •  



     

THE SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS:
A successful candidate will possess the following skills and behaviours:


     

  • Successfully achieved a Professional Accounting Designation (CA, CMA, or CGA).

  •  

  • Completed the CICA In-Depth I and II Tax Course.

  •  

  • Completed a minimum of 4-5 years specializing in Tax in a public accounting firm.

  •  

  • Emphasizes on quality and adds value in their client offerings and services.

  •  

  • Demonstrates strong project management and organizational skills.

  •  

  • Effectively manages conflicting demands and priorities.

  •  

  • Gives others the opportunity to take on new tasks and responsibilities.

  •  

  • Able to instill enthusiasm in others to achieve desired results.

  •  

  • Able to provide persuasive and self-assured responses to challenging questions.

  •  

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relations.
