Section Manager Catering Department - Reading [06/01/2010]
Supporting the Department Manager in formulating, implementing and achieving the department business plan and branch targets.
You will be required to motivate a team of Food Service Partners to offer customers fabulous food and superb service. By recognising, supporting and developing talent you will be expected to set and maintain exceptional standards in all areas of the department including merchandising.
Delivering results that meet targets, maintaining optimum productivity and ensuring a positive work environment will be prime challenges, and you will also work with Partners outside the department to develop and drive the business forward. Strongly customer focused, you will need the leadership skills to get the best out of your team, the confidence to take key departmental decisions and the commitment to maintain the highest standards in everything you do.
Applicants should have the ability to inspire and motivate team members as well as possessing the confidence to tackle any performance concerns honestly.
Applicants should have previous Catering experience. An intermediate food Hygiene certificate and NVQ level 2 would be preferable but not essential.

Job Requirements
Applicants will ideally have a proven record of success in a leadership role within a Catering based environment. Strong organisational skills and high levels of self-motivation are essential. As applicants will be required to routinely use PC based systems basic computer skills would be an advantage but training will be provided.
There will be a requirement for flexibility with working hours at peak times.
