Head Of Brand and Values - Bodyshop - Hongkong [22/12/2009]
Position Description
Purpose of role:
• To uphold and maintain the values of The Body Shop.
• To rejuvenate the brand in the local market, with marketing strategies in line with global.
• To reinforce The Body Shop as a relevant and unique brand to the consumers, in terms of it being a brand to enlighten their lives, mind and body.
• To manage and strategize marketing plans in order to maximise category and retail sales to achieve sales budgets.
• To manage the marketing expenses effectively and efficiently.
• To manage marketing and media plans to achieve category sales objectives.
• To identify relationship opportunities with landlord and third parties that will strengthen the brand exposure and meet business goals.
• To promote The Body Shop Values to the general public and TBS customers, raising awareness to promote the efforts we believed in.
Role Definitions
Primary Accountabilities:
Brand
• Manage, coach and motivate direct reports, ensure that key skills are in place and ensure that training is undertaken to develop these where required
• Work with Market commercial team to agree Market calendars and ensure a coordinated approach to events and communications that meets budget requirements and growth objectives/Market KPIs
• Work with Market Commercial team to understand results of Marketing and NPD activities and look for opportunities for learning and improved execution
• Work with Market Commercial team to identify tactical trading requirements and ensure that appropriate material is leveraged from global to respond to this
• To maintain detailed knowledge of local Market legal requirements and sign off copy changes to all Brand assets in Markets to ensure compliance with local legal/outside counsel/L’Oreal as appropriate (TBD)
• To develop strategic marketing plans for all categories so as to satisfy consumer needs and wants, on a store-by-store basis.
• Provide Marketing support for new store openings including following refurbishment programs
– Own the look and feel of the store
– pulling together compatible elements from the calendar, and work with Market Commercial to determine the perimeter
– Check overall store look and feel in mock shops/example stores and identify tactical changes required
• Undertake visits to stores to understand the customer response to events and products and maintain local Market knowledge
• To establish and maintain a competitors monitoring system and evaluate current and future market trends achieve the goals laid down on marketing plan
• To conduct Market Research and provide information on customer profile, buying behaviour and perception of our products so as to develop suitable marketing strategies that contribute to the growth of business.
• To manage CRM as a key business driver and responsible for devising value-added programs for our Customer Club Members that will increase the loyalty, frequency of visits, dollar value per transaction for business, as well as promoting The Body Shop values.
• To ensure and maintain good press relations with the local media and journalists for long term relationships in publicly.
• To evaluate the effectiveness of third party promotions, events, LYB promotions and initiatives
• To work closely with retail operations to explore all promotion opportunities with landlords and corporations to maximise sales opportunities.
• To ensure the brand revitalisation makes a strong and lasting impact.
• To ensure all shops maintain a high standard of visual appearance.
• To ensure maximum efficiency and productivity of investment for marketing, events and LYB initiatives.
• To manage marketing expenses are kept in accordance to plan.
• To manage the department budget and analyse cost and expenditure and elements of promotional material and store display material.

• To develop market values event calendar and use of the Values materials developed by International
• To work closely with zone and NGOs to pursue actively in campaigns and community activities to uphold the core values of The Body Shop.
• To manage and implement the Market corporate volunteering programme
• To manage and implement the Market climate change programme
• To manage and implement the Market donation programme
Experience:
• Marketing graduate with substantial experience in the related field in a managerial capacity.
• Strong retail background will be preferred.
Qualifications:
• Degree educated in a relevant discipline (i.e. Marketing, Communications, PR)
